Scan2Eat Cookie and Storage Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Scan2Eat uses only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage: the ones the service needs to work or to remember a choice you made. That is why there is no cookie banner. There are no analytics, advertising, social-media or other third-party cookies or requests, and fonts and scripts are served by us.

The legal basis is Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and its national versions (in Germany, section 25 TDDDG), which allow storage that is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. If we ever add anything that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first and list it here.

1. Guests ordering at a venue

  • s2e_guest: keeps your table session and shared cart and links you to the orders at your table. First-party and path-scoped to the venue. It lasts up to 24 hours.
  • s2e_lang, s2e_theme (browser storage): remember the language and light or dark setting you choose. They stay until you clear them.

2. Signing in, and the admin, staff and kitchen apps

  • s2e_session: the sign-in session (a short-lived access token, 15 minutes). First-party, httpOnly and path-scoped to your business.
  • s2e_refresh: renews the session without asking you to sign in again. First-party, httpOnly and path-scoped. It lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out.
  • s2e_lang, s2e_theme (browser storage): your language and theme.
  • s2e_kitchen_sound, s2e_kitchen_autoprint (browser storage, kitchen screen only): whether the kitchen alert sound and automatic ticket printing are switched on.
